Inventing a New European Model of Prosperity With the Green Deal
There is a lot at stake with the European Green Deal: it is a matter of creating a virtuous circle of profound economic change without causing social division. In the eighth contribution of our "Green Deal reloaded" series, Pascal Canfin, Chair of the European Parliament's Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, shows how European legislation can pave a credible way to reach these ambitious objectives and turn the EU into a global green power. If Europe can avoid the mistakes committed during past crises and develop a culture of negotiation around transformation processes, it will be in a position to invent a new model of prosperity for the 21st century.
