Carbon Pricing: The Key to Economic Transformation

In this fifth contribution, Christian Gollier, Executive Director of the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE), argues that the green transformation of the economy requires a determined reallocation of capital across European economies. Instead of steering this process through national policy programs, it would be preferable to introduce a uniform, steep CO2 price across Europe that increases over time, flanked by a massive green research and development (R&D) funding program.
